Lay down and find a comfortable position. If you feel ready, close your eyes. Imagine a whiteboard in your mind’s eye. Let the images, sounds, and emotions of your mind cross the whiteboard without judgment. When you notice the images slow to a stop, take an eraser and clean and clear the whiteboard. Keep wiping until the board is completely clear. Now exhale. Breathe in to the count of 4  (1…2…3…4….) Hold for 7  (1….2…3…4…5…6…7…) Exhale with a whooshing sound to the count of 8  (1….2…3…4…5…6…7…8…).

Breathe in…inhale…slowly…filling your lungs to capacity…that’s good…and  now… exhale…releasing the air, letting it out through your mouth. You should feel a little more relaxed. Okay…once again…take a big deep breath. Really fill up your lungs…feel your chest rise…and exhale…let it all out…slowly. Excellent. Okay, one more deep breath. In through the nose, filling your lungs…now open your mouth and relax your jaw…and release, slowly and barely pushing the air out. Very good. You should be feeling much more relaxed.

Now imagine yourself in a large field in the country. The grass around you is a vibrant green color, and the grass is very healthy and lush. A warm breeze passes by your body. It caresses your skin and feels refreshing to you. You sit down and watch as the breeze causes the grass to sway. It glimmers in the sunshine and it looks like waves from the ocean. It sways back and forth, back and forth. The flowing movement of the grass relaxes you even more.

You relax your head; every muscle in your face lets go of its built-up tension. You move your neck around as it loosens. You move your shoulders up and back and let them relax as well. Your arms and hands are resting loosely by your side. You begin to relax some more. It feels nice to be in the grassy field relaxing. You then gently stretch your back, going through each vertebra and relaxing the muscles that support your spine. You relax your chest and stomach. You feel your steady breath rising and falling with your chest. You let your hips and seat relax into the soft ground beneath. Now, move down to your thighs and relax each one. You let your knees part slightly and relax. Your shins and calves relax as you continue to fully relax your body. You wiggle your feet a bit and point and flex your toes. This relaxes them and you are in a very peaceful state. Your body is completely at ease. You enjoy how you are feeling right now in a deep state of relaxation.

While allowing your body to remain in this peaceful feeling, you decide to stand up and take a little walk through the green grassy field. You come to an area with an ornate wooden case. It’s just slightly taller and wider than you and is covered in intricate carvings. You take a key from around your neck and place it in the lock on the wooden case. The lock clicks and the doors gently swing open. Your eyes are instantly blinded by pure golden light. You take a step back to let your eyes adjust.

You begin to see what is creating this powerful light—a suit of armor. You step up next to it and notice an inscription plate at the base. It reads D&C 27:15–18:

“Wherefore, lift up your hearts and rejoice, and gird up your loins, and take upon you my whole armor, that ye may be able to withstand the evil day, having done all, that ye may be able to stand. Stand, therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, which I have sent mine angels to commit unto you; Taking the shield of faith wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked; And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of my Spirit, which I will pour out upon you, and my word which I reveal unto you, and be agreed as touching all things whatsoever ye ask of me, and be  faithful until I come, and ye shall be caught up, that where I am ye shall be also. Amen.” (See Also Eph 6:10-18)

You feel a longing tug pull at your heart and you know instantly that this suit of armor was forged to fit one person alone—you. Lovingly, you pull out one piece at a time, starting with a knee-length robe of chainmail. It is lightweight but strong as spider silk and glowing white. You slip it over your head and as it settles, your mind is filled with the phrase “girt your loins about with truth” and you are filled from head to toe in pure golden light. You feel a surge of gratitude as you set in your heart a more sure desire to be more truthful to yourself, to others, and to God from this day forward.

Next, you remove shin, thigh, and arm guards. You are reminded as you buckle them on that it is in humble prayer that you will find your greatest allies in this war you face every day between darkness and light.

Now, you remove the breastplate of righteousness. As you slip it over your chest, you are filled with a sense of courage and confidence, knowing your heart is protected. For with God, all things are possible and we will guide and guard those who serve Him.

When you pull the shoes from out of the case and buckle them to your feet, you are struck by their durable flexibility. You can walk with strength and vitality for many miles in these shoes as you spread the gospel of peace wherever you go.

You remove the helmet with both hands, examining it from all sides. It glistens with the most flawless craftsmanship, and you marvel at the gloriousness of God and His great mercy. When you place the helmet of salvation upon your head, your mind is able to block out the noises around you and tune in to the still small voice within.

There are two items left in the case. When your fingers curl around the shield of faith, and you bring it near to your body, it activates a translucent shield all the way around you, like a clear membrane or bubble. This shield is powered by the strength of your faith. All other lower frequencies, energy weapons, fiery darts of Satan are all deflected, and only higher vibrational frequencies can travel through this shield as long as it stays strong.

Finally, you reach for the sword of the Spirit of God. It burns with a whiteness of pure divine power that you can barely fathom. As you grip it tightly, a tingling warmth travels down your arm, through your spine, and connects with you on a deep soul level. This sword will be your offensive weapon against the wiles of the devil. You can strengthen it as you draw nearer to God through study, prayer, and faith.

There is one thing left to do: walk around the back of the now empty wooden case. You see a full-length mirror molded into the back of the case. Step to where you can see yourself fully reflected. Take a deep breath as you examine how glorious you shine! Every part of you is glistening with light and the power of God.

Unfortunately, there are times in your life where your armor will be damaged, pieces might even be torn off completely, but there is hope.  Turn and walk back to where the case doors are open and step inside. If you look with your spiritual eyes at the back wall, you will see a painting. Step even closer and you will realize that you are staring into the eyes of a painting of Jesus Christ.  You gently trace along the outline of His loving face, and your heart fills with the indescribable love that the Savior has for you. How could you have ever doubted? He was there all along, keeping your armor safe and pure. But…He has one more truly magnificent gift for you—full access to the power of His atonement. Whenever you choose to come to Him with a broken heart and contrite spirit, giving all your will and strength to God, giving up your misdeeds and transgressions no matter how difficult, He will repair the damage that the darkness inflicts on your armor, and you will shine with blinding power and light, just like you see yourself at this very moment.

Now that you are fully clothed in the Armor of God, and fully connected to your mission and purpose, you feel magnificent, powerful, and fully connected to your Creator. You notice a gentle vibration is traveling through every cell of your body.  Let it fill every crevice. Breathe it in and lock this feeling in place. All fears, doubts, and lower frequency thoughts and feelings have been burned away by the fervent heat of this fervent light. Remember, faith and fear cannot coexist, and as long as you are connected with God, there is no need to fear. Go forth with faith, warrior of light.
